Increasing numbers of local schools are using Forster Park for ‘forest-school‘ lessons. An outdoor classroom was built in July 2019 so that classes can continue whatever the weather.

Our ancient woodland is safe to run around in and has a useful log circle.
The Friends of Forster Memorial Park (FoFMP) have links to trained and appropriately certified teachers who can lead forest school classes if teachers would find that helpful.

The area at the ‘top’ of the park, near to the Longhill Road entrance is the best area for forest school lessons. There are a number of clearings among the oak trees in this area. Access is straightforward, the log circle provides a space to gather a class together and the ground here dries quickly so mud is rarely an issue.
